EL Chantre

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

In the heart of Ronda, nature unveils a remarkable spectacle.

In the vicinity of the esteemed Arunda, an ancient Roman city tracing its origins to Phoenician roots, where more than two millennia ago, its prized wines graced the palates of connoisseurs, as evidenced by the revered coins minted in Ronda, the presence of our exceptional extra virgin olive oil is indispensable. With a legacy dating back to antiquity, our EVOO was already esteemed for export and distribution throughout the Empire, transported in vessels of clay now esteemed as artifacts of artistry. Presently, this oil traverses seamlessly from press to table, ensuring its freshness and unparalleled taste.

“El Chantre,” nestled in the southern expanse of Ronda between two formidable plateaus of natural rock, epitomizes this tradition. Within the confines of its tranquil courtyards teeming with the fragrance of jasmine, the liquid gold of olive oil emanates amidst the soft murmur of water.

In this rugged and mountainous locale, the revelation of pristine aromas of freshly cut grass, ripe tomatoes, and verdant olives, embodied in our ORO AL-ANDALUS, is nothing short of extraordinary. True to its essence, this journey begins at our cherished country estate, EL CHANTRE, a testament to its enduring allure across four generations.

THE HISTORY OF CHANTRE

"El Chantre"

In the 19th century, Cristóbal Becerra acquired the estate known as “El Chantre,” a legacy that has been handed down through generations. Today, it is Cristóbal’s great-granddaughter, María Luz Becerra, who wholeheartedly dedicates herself to the meticulous management of this expansive 132-acre farm. Beyond cultivating cereals, the estate boasts approximately 10,000 olive trees of the esteemed Picual Marteño variety.

Nestled within the mountainous enclave of Ronda, our olive trees flourish, setting our plantation apart from the rest. Rooted in a rich familial history of crafting exceptional Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), we have upheld a tradition of producing a small batch for our nearest and dearest, cherished for its quality in private tastings.

Driven by a passion to honor and elevate our family legacy, our current steward has embarked on a new journey for our farm. Introducing ORO AL-ANDALUS, our signature EVOO crafted from early harvest olives. With a focus on international recognition, we aim to showcase the uniqueness of our terroir nestled in the Ronda mountain range, boasting a tapestry of distinctive colors and flavors.

ORO AL-ANDALUS delights the senses with its remarkable fruitiness, revealing clean aromas of fresh grass, tomato, and green olives. On the palate, it offers a delightful experience, characterized by a harmonious balance of bitterness and spiciness in its lingering aftertaste.

What truly sets our EVOO apart is its vibrant green hue, a testament to its early olive collection and production process enriched with natural chlorophyll. This vibrant color contributes to a symphony of flavors, creating an extraordinary sensory experience that defines ORO AL-ANDALUS as truly exceptional.
